Sri
Lanka's interior breaks down in to three main areas - historical,
cultural and scenic. The historical areas focus around stunning
Sigiriya Rock Fortress and the ancient city of Polonnaruwa.
Kandy is the heart of Cultural Sri Lanka, home to the famed
Temple of the Tooth, while Nuwara Eilya is Sri Lanka's best
known hill resort and a great base for scenic exploring. Don't
forget to visit the wonderful Pinnawella Elephant Orphanage
too! |

TO STAY |
There's
an impressive range of accommodation available away from the
coast in Sri Lanka, with options ranging from comfortable hotels
making a good base for exploring, to world-class hotels for
total pampering. Kandy and Sigiriya are the two main areas for
hotels, but many properties allow easy access to a variety of
locations, making it possible to take in different areas without
needing to change hotels. |

Spend
a few nights in Kandy, Sigiriya or elsewhere inland before moving
onwards to the coast, or combine different areas inland before
moving on to the coast or heading home - most things are possible
as our holidays are very flexible! It's even possible to combine

THERE |
Scheduled
flights operate from the UK to Colombo, Sri Lanka's main airport.
The holidays here are based on scheduled flights from Heathrow,
flying direct with Sri Lankan Airlines, although other departure
points are also available including Manchester, Birmingham and
Glasgow - just ask. |
