Stone Town has some unique properties that have been converted from old residences and palaces. On the beaches, resorts offer Zanzibari style accommodation and warm, friendly service. Standards overall tend to be good and relaxed.

GETTING THERE

Zanzibar is reached from Nairobi in Kenya or Arusha in Tanzania, making is ideal to combine with a safari holiday. Alternatively, for a beach-only holiday, connections are available from Heathrow via Nairobi, with regional connections in the UK also possible. Flight connections in Nairobi tend to involve some waiting time.
