Mombasa's

TO DO |
Mombasa
City makes a fascinating experience, with a long history of
trading and slaves. Visit Fort Jesus, built by the Portuguese,
and the Old Town, with it's array of shops and markets. Elsewhere,
the North Coast makes a good base for excursions to visit Kenya's
amazing wildlife. Being closer to Mombasa town itself - and
linked by a road bridge - the north coast tends to be busier
and offers a greater variety of activities, restaurants and
nightlife. The South Coast's peaceful atmosphere and glorious
beaches makes this an ideal Honeymoon destination. |

TO STAY |
There's
a good selection of hotels in Mombasa, ranging from simple properties
for the budget-conscious to luxurious five star options. The
main beach area on the North Coast is at Bamburi, where the
beach is lively and there's plenty to do. On Mombasa's South
Coast, hotels are dotted along the beautiful beaches, and offer
relaxing holiday bases. Holidays in this area tend to be hotel-based,
with many offering an excellent range of facilities. The area
north of Mombasa tends to be more peaceful, so is ideal for
a relaxing holiday. Options include All Inclusive resorts and
Half Board hotels. |

| GETTING
THERE |
Flights
to Mombasa operate from Gatwick on a weekly basis, giving holidays
for a week or two. There are flights from Manchester to Mombasa
at certain times of year - ask for more details! Safari plus
beach holidays are normally from Heathrow to Nairobi, with the
onward flight top Mombasa after the safari taking about an hour. |
